Atlas, Profound, Athena, SEMrush — the global tools measure an Anglo-American Internet that doesn't really exist here. Switzerland has four languages, unique cantonal directories, a Swiss FADP regulation that isn't the GDPR, and an SME economy where trust is built differently than through large digital ad budgets. Lumis is built for that reality.
Global SEO tools work. They measure well what they measure. The problem: they measure the wrong Internet for you.
When a Romand SME writes «septante» instead of «soixante-dix», that's a native signal. When a Zurich SME writes «Velo» instead of «Fahrrad», that's a native signal. When a Vaud accounting firm is listed on local.ch + swissfirms.ch + moneyhouse, that's a native signal. Atlas ignores all of these signals — not out of incompetence, out of cultural incompatibility.
Meanwhile, when a Swiss prospect types «best accounting firm in canton Vaud» into ChatGPT, the answer cites three firms. If you're not among those three, you no longer exist — regardless of your traditional Google ranking. And the question is asked 40 % of the time in French, 35 % in German, 10 % in Italian, 15 % in English. Not the other way around.
Lumis is a benchmark for Swiss digital visibility — not an afterthought localization of an American product. Building every dimension with local ground knowledge, rather than translating a global tool, is an architectural decision. Not a marketing opinion.
The methodology is public. Versioned like code. Every Scope Card. Every weight. Every threshold. If you want to recompute our score on your own site, you have everything you need. That's the exact opposite of a proprietary tool. A benchmark you cannot audit is not a benchmark — it's a well-presented opinion.
Every dimension is calibrated for the Swiss context. D4 detects Helvetisms. D7 knows the cantonal directories. D5 queries LLMs in the language your prospect actually speaks. The score of a Swiss SME measured by Lumis will be more precise — and more actionable — than the same score measured by a global tool.
Hosting is in Switzerland. The methodology is Swiss FADP compliant. No client operating data touches an American LLM. Lumis queries public LLMs with public data only (your brand name, your sector). Everything else stays with us, under Swiss jurisdiction.
Lumis is not an anonymous SaaS product. Behind the methodology, there is a president of AI Swiss who publicly defends every figure.
Stéphane is president of AI Swiss, the umbrella association for the artificial intelligence sector in Switzerland. A regular voice in the Romand press on the stakes of AI adoption for SMEs, he defends the Lumis methodology publicly — figure by figure, dimension by dimension.
The 90-minute Discovery that every SME pre-registered for early access receives is led by Stéphane personally. Not a salesperson. Not an account manager. A real conversation with someone who can defend the methodology on the chalkboard if you push him into the corners.
The distinction is subtle, but it's what makes Lumis compatible with the sovereignty commitment we made to our clients. To measure dimension D5 (AI Visibility), Lumis has to query the public AI engines — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini. Here's how we do it without contradicting the sovereignty promise.
Public data only: your brand name, your sector (accounting, real estate, etc.), your canton, your public URLs.
These are elements anyone can find in five seconds on the Internet. Sending them to LLMs to ask «do you know this company?» reveals nothing private.
Your operating data: your CRM contents, internal documents, exchanges with your clients, financial data, HR data, contracts, invoices, passwords, personal data of your clients.
None of this data has any reason to reach Lumis. And even if you sent some by mistake, the Privacy Veil would filter it out before it reached anything.
This discipline is integrated at the code level (SDK layer), not at policy. A developer cannot accidentally send client data to a US LLM — the system refuses. It's the same discipline as the other tools in our family (IVANO, Conformitas) — not an opinion, an architecture.
Lumis is opening early access for around twenty Swiss SMEs. 90-minute Discovery with Stéphane Fallet, president of AI Swiss. No commitment. No public pricing. No SaaS to sign. A real conversation, with someone who defends every dimension.
